Except for the few years when the STi was only a hatch, and there was no wide body sedan, the WRX and STi have had the same body.  I doubt they're going to do much significant exterior wise for the next STi other than the spoiler.

What is a CVT transmission?  According to this article (http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2013/11/2015-subaru-wrx-bows-in-la-with-cvt-268-horsepower.html), the new WRX will have that option.  Is it similar to an automatic?

Yes it is a form of automatic. Search YouTube to get a visual and I'll explain it when we see each other again.

Yeah Steve explained it to me. Apparently its not the most reliable and there's been alot of problems with this type of transmission.

the worst part is it's emotionless.

It's very good if all you want is fuel economy.
