| When it's active you use it more than you think you would. Unlike the old system where you had to be in an uphill grade. It will do it anytime the clutch and brake are depressed enough. | |

| only time its been useful for me in my dads forester is when towing a trailer up a steep hill with a stop light right before the top. but im also pretty perfect at hill starts | |

| At first I hated the Hill assist on my STI. After a month or so of driving I've "relearned" to drive a manual transmission and actually like the hill assist. It is definetly something that takes a little getting use to. Learning to use the brake pedal in a softer pressure on incline starts is a big help. | |
